Residency at Milvus Artistic Research Center in May 2023

Drama is the last piece in the trilogy of works addressing loss. Drama will in turn provoke the structures in which grief is supposed to fit into. It will spill out of the discreet, defined and orderly, reordering grief’s timely and spatial relations. The work has departed from the thought of the ecstatic edges of grief. Ecstatic having the capacity to literally mean being outside oneself with both rage and grief. We will look into the lament expressions of grief, leaning on the operatic, the punk and the tragicomic. The piece references states, aesthetics and expressions that outcry, dramatice and mess around with emotions that can not be contained within a form. This layering will be composed together in close dialog with our collaborator costume designer Lærke Valum.
